Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Advisory

  • Lead and deliver technical advisory assignments, ensuring high-quality outputs aligned with client expectations, timelines, and budgets.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients, providing clear, structured, and actionable recommendations.

Technical Due Diligence & Design Review

  • Perform technical due diligence on PV, BESS, and hybrid projects, assessing design quality, operational strategies, risks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review third-party engineering designs (PV and BESS), identifying optimisation opportunities and technical gaps.

BESS & Energy Systems Analysis

  • Assess BESS system architectures, including EMS/BMS functionality, degradation assumptions, cycling strategies, and performance guarantees.
  • Evaluate key storage use cases such as energy arbitrage, ancillary services, and capacity markets.
  • Analyse hybrid system behaviour, including PV-BESS interactions, dispatch strategies, and revenue optimisation.

Grid & Regulatory Assessment

  • Evaluate grid connection requirements, grid code compliance, and technical constraints for both standalone and co-located assets.
  • Identify risks and opportunities linked to evolving regulatory frameworks and market design.

Safety & Compliance

  • Assess compliance with relevant safety standards (e.g., NFPA 855, IEC 62933, UL 9540/9540A).
  • Review fire safety design, thermal runaway mitigation strategies, and overall site safety concepts.

Performance & Modelling

  • Contribute to energy yield assessments, performance modelling, and long-term operational evaluations.
  • Support the development of robust technical assumptions for financial modelling.

Internal & Commercial Support

  • Support business development activities by providing technical input for proposals and client discussions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external advisors, OEMs, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and the continuous improvement of methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Requisitos

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience, with proven exposure to BESS projects (experience in PV is a strong advantage).
  • Solid understanding of:
  • BESS systems (architecture, EMS/BMS, degradation, warranties, LTSAs)
  • PV systems (modules, inverters, layouts, energy yield) – desirable
  • Experience reviewing technical and contractual documentation (e.g., EPC contracts, warranties, O&M agreements).
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to adapt methodologies to different scopes (due diligence, design review, performance analysis, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with energy modelling tools is a plus.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English; Italian is a strong advantage.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, client-oriented insights.
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary and international environments.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Adaptable, with the ability to work across both PV and BESS depending on business needs.
