Full-Time Electronics & Firmware Technician

1. Objective of the position:
Develop, maintain and improve electronic systems, embedded firmware and software integration for Crosby Airpes products, ensuring product reliability, innovation and compliance with technical and quality standards.
The position is responsible for electronic development activities, firmware/software updates and loading into products, technical validation, troubleshooting and support to production and R&D activities related to weighing and lifting solutions.
Contribute to the development of advanced electronic and embedded solutions that reinforce Crosby Airpes’ position as a leader in lifting and load handling solutions.
2. Functions of the job and tasks to be carried out:
HSE – Safety & Environment
- Ensure that all production personnel respect good environmental practices related to waste segregation, correct use of chemicals, efficient use of paper/toner, energy use and efficient driving.
- Respect and ensure respect for the rules of Occupational Risk Prevention and Health and Safety, namely: proper handling of machines, equipment, vehicles and tools, correct handling of chemical products, correct use of PPE as indicated in the corresponding risk assessments.
- Participate in the SSL issues that it deems necessary and in particular in those situations in which it detects dangers.
- Comply with the rules established in case of emergency in the workplace.
Electronic Development & Firmware
- Design, develop and improve electronic circuits, control boards and embedded electronic systems for Crosby Airpes products.
- Develop, maintain, update and load firmware/software into electronic devices and products.
- Perform firmware flashing, software updates and configuration of electronic equipment during development, testing and production phases.
- Carry out electronic testing, validation and troubleshooting to ensure product reliability and functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and firmware issues in electronic products and systems.
- Support continuous improvement and optimization of electronic systems and embedded solutions.
- Integrate new technologies and components into existing and future products.
Coordination with other areas:
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Production and Quality departments to ensure correct integration of electronic systems.
- Provide technical support to production and workshop teams regarding electronics, firmware and product configuration.
- Participate in project planning and product development activities according to customer and market requirements.
- Support electronic workshop production planning activities when required.
- Ensure proper traceability and documentation of firmware/software versions used in products.
Regulatory & Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with applicable international regulations and standards (IEC, CE, UL).
- Document technical processes, tests, firmware versions and project results according to company procedures.
- Ensure electronic products meet quality, reliability and performance standards.
R&D & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in R&D projects from concept to implementation.
- Identify technological improvement opportunities for products and processes.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, electronic components and communication systems applicable to company products.
- Propose improvements to strengthen the company’s competitive position in the market
4. Skills, abilities and/or professional qualifications required:
Education
Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or similar (master’s degree or specialization is an asset).
Experience in the design of electronic circuits, embedded systems and control software.
Technical Knowledge
Strong knowledge of electronic hardware and embedded systems.
Experience in firmware/software updating and loading into electronic products.
Programming knowledge in: Assembly Language, C, C++, other C-based programming variations.
Knowledge of electronic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Experience with communication protocols such as: CAN Bus, Modbus, IoT systems.
Knowledge of electronic design and debugging tools such as: Altium Designer, Matlab, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools.
Familiarity with international regulations: IEC, CE, UL.
Experience in weighing systems or weighing equipment.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electronics, firmware or embedded systems positions.
Experience in industrial electronic products and technical troubleshooting.
Experience in firmware/software loading and maintenance in production environments is highly desirable.
Languages
High level of English required.
Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English and communicate in international environments.
